There is a whole new set of ride to enjoy just down from my dorm. Rides that throw people up and into the air, something I am not a fan of. Some people like the adrenaline rush. Mine comes from watching the people being shot into the air and not falling to their deaths.
Following these gentlemen was a bagpipe band and then about an hour and half of people carrying torches. There must have been thousands of people total. I was able to get video and figure it will be better than posting the many pictures I took. Robin and I did not purchase a torch ourselves and follow the procession to the top of Calton Hill. We were just content to watch and take pictures of the thousands of people with flaming torches pass us.
And as we watched the flames pass I couldn't help but think that something like this would never fly in the states. To many potential lawsuits waiting to happen.
The New Year's Eve festivities fun from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Check back soon for pictures and details of the events. It should prove to be my most exciting New Years Eve ever. The complete list of Hogmanay events is listed on their website.
I wish everyone a very Happy New Years and all the best in the year to come.
